Hazrat Sayyad Ali Bin Usman Hujweri Lahori (d. 465 AH / 1072 or 1073 CE), quddis sirrahu is the renowned Sufi shaykh of 5th century Hijri and famous with the name of Data Ganj Bakhsh which means the master who bestows treasures. He was from Hujwer, a town in Ghazni now Afghanistan, and later migrated to Lahore for the propagation of Islam and Sufism. Hazrat Sayyad Ali bin Usman Hajweri is both al-Hasani and al-Husayni Sayyid. His father is al-Hasani Sayyid and his mother is al-Husayni.
He wrote many books but the only the masterpiece of Sufism and the first book written on this topic in Persian is Kashf al-Mahjoob. This is the most popular book of Tasawwuf in the Muslims. His other books were Minhaj-ud-Din, Asrar-ul-Khiraqq wa'l-ma'unat, Kitab-i-Fana-o-baqa, Kitab-al-Bayan-li-ahl-al-iyan, Bahr-ul-Qulub, Al-Riayat li-huquq Allah.
